With the 2016 season over, 2017 is now the priority.
After DragonSpeeds first and successful 2016 season in the ELMS the continuation into 2017 season should be even better. A new car in the shape of the Oreca 07 and the addition of the iconic Daytona and LeMans 24 hour race are going make a exiticng Lmp2 program that Ben is delighted to be a part of.
Hopefully Ben and his management RDM will be able to add further to the above program as Ben looks to include some GT racing into the mix as well!
Another solid weekend from team DragonSpeed and drivers Hanley, Hedman and Lapierre took them to a 2nd place finish at the ELMS season finale in Estoril. Fighting for the win until a safety car in the 3rd stint made the remainder of the race a catch up mission for the No21 Oreca 05 . Although the pace was phenomenal the gap was to big to the lead car and the 2nd place finish was still a fantastic achievement for the teams 4th podium in its first 6 races in the Lmp2 category.
A fantastic performance by the whole team saw Dragonspeed take their first ELMS victory at the Spa 4 hours race. Hanley, Lapierre and Hedman produced outstanding performances to take their Oreca 05 to the flag from pole position.
After solid practice and qualifying pace the Dragonspeed Oreca05 continued the good run of form to claim another podium finish in the European Le Mans Series. Excellent stints from Hanley, Lapierre and Hedman meant the team finished the 4 hour race in 3rd place!
Starting from pole position the number 21 Oreca 05 of Hanley, Hedmen and Lapierre had a solid race and claimed P3 even though a lot of track position was lost due to a hour long virtual safety car period and then safety car period.
